50. My Reply to Your Witchery (July 14, 1891)

御返事呪文(明治二十四年七月十四日)

燬盡朱顔爛痘痕
失來輕傘却開昏
癡漢悟道非難事
吾是宛然不動尊

My Reply to Your Witchery (July 14, 1891)

My face burned red and my pockmarks become inflamed,
The lost umbrella turns out to be an illumination.
It is not difficult for a madman to grasp the truth; I am a veritable fiery Fudō.[1]

[1] Fudō, the Immovable, one of the Five Great Sapient Kings (Go Dai Myōō) devoted to the spread of Buddhism (represented against a background of fire).
