151. Untitled (September 1, 1916)

Untitled (September 1, 1916)

The stone gate on the distant road does not welcome visits,

The blazing sun hangs high over a forest beyond the clouds.

With the green pines, alone I share a simple desire;

Finally I let the white crane know a sincere heart.

In the shade of the empty hills, plum blossoms are cold;

No wind in the spring valley, medicinal herbs are thick.

The yellow bearded old man laments the loss of activity,

He sits again in the empty hall, alone strumming a zither.
