滿目江山夢裡移

指頭明月了吾癡

曾參石佛聽無法

漫作佯狂冒世規

白首南軒歸臥日

青衫北斗遠征時

先生不解降龍術

閉戸空爲閑適詩

Untitled (September 2, 1916)

The mountains and rivers in my eyes move into my dreams,

The bright moon at my finger tip understands my idiocy.

I once visited the stone Buddha, listened to the doctrine-less;

I feigned madness all around, braved the world order.

A grey-haired head by the south eaves in the days of retirement;

A dark mantle under the north star at the time of a long voyage.

The teacher does not know the Art of Subduing the Dragon;

He shuts the door and idly writes leisure poetry.
